Topsy was the nickname given to
William Morris, one of the most energetic men of the Victorian age.
Designer, craftsman, factory-owner, poet and proto-socialist, his
legacy is immense. This broadcast biography, written and presented
by Douglas Skeggs, was shot in Morris' houses and landscapes, and
gives some idea of how exhausting it must have been to know the
man. Music by Jeremy Nicholas, produced and directed by Peter
Champness.
